Hostería Briza Oceano just south of Río Verde in Esmeraldas - Ecuador, is a lovely beach lodge with good facilities and food located on a private beach.

Here you can enjoy miles of sand and bask in the sun at our pristine beach. Nearby are tropical rainforests and fisherman villages.

To get to Briza Oceano you have 2 choices, you can either fly to Esmeraldas from Quito (25 min.), we are 40 minutes from the airport by car. Or you can overland and enjoy the majestic descent from the Andes passing through the cloudforest and tropical palm and banana plantations.

We invite you to relax in the warm equatorial sun and enjoy ecotourism at our grassroots beach lodge.

In HOSTERIA BRIZA OCEANO you are bound to enjoy your stay – no matter whether you come for a holiday, for business, for an excursion, a meeting, for a celebration, a honeymoon or just for a rest.

- The CABINS offer you a tranquil stay in rooms equipped with a private bath, ceiling fans and a balcony with a hammock.

Every cabin is fitted out with 4 to 6 beds, with orthopedic mattresses. For your convenience the windows are screened with mosquito netting and if you wish we will gladly provide you with mosquito nets for your bed.

- The RESTAURANT: we specialize in typical Esmeralda cuisine, with its host of fresh sea foods. All breads, cakes and ice creams are prepared by us with love and inspiration. At all times we comply with the most stringent mandates of Swiss quality and parameters of hygiene.

-The BAR grants you a casual holiday atmosphere, highlighted by our milkshakes and cocktails – no matter whether they are prepared by traditional recipes or by your very own creation.

We also have a sidebar in the pool area, from where we gladly serve you drinks on the beach or in your rooms.

- The JUICERY / FRUITERY offers you an enormous variety of fruits for your fresh juices and fruit dishes.
Obviously all the water we use in the drinks and in the ice is 100% drinking water and completely safe.

- The BEACH is several kilometers long and lies directly in front of the Hostería. It is a smooth sand beach. The sea is warm, of approximately 25 degrees centigrade, and is free of rip-currents and undertows. You will find a great array of shells and interesting driftwood on our serene and peaceful beach. Evening after evening you will be delighted by a beautiful sunset, with scores of pelicans and frigate birds soaring across the sky.

- The SWIMMING POOL is spacious and pretty and beckons you to relax in the deck chairs under the sun shades, thus providing all guests with a true alternative to the beach. And thanks to the illumination, you can enjoy the pool as late as you please. For the peace of mind of the adults, the childrens’ pool is adjacent to the big pool.

- The MULTIFUNCTIONAL BUILDING is a typical wood and palm straw construction, ideal for meetings, parties, games or meditation. A set of table tennis is at your disposition.

- The OUTLOOK PAVILION is opposite the beach and provided with hammocks – ideal for watching a romantic sunset or for leisurely reading or meditation.

- The TROPICAL GARDENS are comprised of two hectares of land, surrounding the whole compound of PURA VIDA, contributing to its serene atmosphere in communion with nature.

Within the gardens the VOLLEY grounds and CAMPING grounds are also to be found. Innumerable coconut palms supply the kitchen with nuts for the typical dishes and for the piña colada cocktails and ice creams and conveying an air of holiday nonchalance that our guests so much appreciate.
