El Patio Andaluz colonial mansion
The Hotel Patio Andaluz, located in the heart of historic “Quito Antiguo” and surrounded by churches, museums and national monuments, was declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO in 1978. The Hotel is an official National Treasure and holds centuries of history within its walls. It was part of the original Solaris (original building sites) that constituted the City of San Francisco of Quito at the time of its foundation.

Independence Square
The main square of the city is of neoclassic style. It is surrounded by the presidencial house, municipality, archiepiscopal palace and the Cathedral of Quito. In the central part rises the monument to the independence from Spain, and around it there are benches used to relax by retired burocrats, pedestrians and visitors, that wish to leisurely enjoy the environment around them.

Cathedral
Visitors can observe in its interior the three navels adorned with extraordinary works of painting and sculpture that belong to the school of Quito.

Carondelet Palace
This is the venue of government and the home of the President. It has a neoclassic style with a beautiful colonial facade, constructed by the Baron of Carondelet, when he was president of the Royal Audience of Quito.

El Sagrario church
It is joined to the Cathedral, it has in its interior an amazing room divider made in the baroque style and scultures by Bernardo Legarda in the XVIII Century
