Polylepis nature lodge
Polylepis lodge is located in the buffer zone of the Angel Ecological reserve, within 12 hectares of the only remaining millenial Polylepis forest of volcanic and glacial origin.You can enjoy, travel and observe two unique ecosystems in the world like The Forest of Polylepis and another ecosystem also endemic, The Frailejones (espeletia pycnophylla), this last unique and exclusive of the Ecological Reserve of El Ángel; where you will also be able to enjoy horse riding, hiking, sport fishing, exquisite typical food, observation of birds including the majestic condor and walks at the forest from similar Millennial Polylepis to the forest of the Lord of the rings, but in the real life, the scene of this movie where trees take life is the first thing that comes to the mind when delighted you can go in the forest of Polylepis enjoying a sheltered weather, and with the forms that could seduce to the most demanding film directors. Streams, creeks, small cascades of gelid and transparent waters, conform an environment where, with something of imagination, you can travel among the magic scenarios narrated in the Grimm´s stories.
At night the homemade dinner, the hot locro, roasted corn, giant trouts, rice with milk, special drinks prepared with boiled of Zunfo, playing the guitar and dancing, and then to the cottage, built with stones and wooden trunks, where emulating the heroes of the old west, one is defeated to the dream wrapped in bed comfort, at the heat from the chimney, and from several hot water bottles that also are put among the blankets, which are the details of the reparative and unforgettable night.
