Quilotoa adventure lodge

Quilotoa Crater Lake Lodge is located in western Cotopaxi Province atop the volcanic peak of Quilotoa, at an elevation of 3891 meters or 12,172 ft.

From the road, one cannot see the breath-taking, aquamarine Crater Lake until the last few steps when approaching the rim. Then the whole lake and its vista leaves one with a sense of awe. It is possible to descend into the crater from the main lookour point only, all three other sides of the volcano have a ragged, rugged high ridge with a 1500 ft drop which makes it impossible to climb. However, from the village look-out point visitors can see the majestic volcanic lake which is approximately 3 km in size.

Quilotoa Crater Lake Lodge is committed to working with the community to promote the development of the local economy and the reforestation of the area. When possible we purchase locally-grown food and employ local citizens, providing job training and new jobs where few exist. We advocate advancing the standard of living in our community.

Activities

Various excursions can be arranged in the area including a visit to a natural hot springs, hikes, treks, horseback riding, archaeological sites and more. Quilotoa Lodge is near the most important indigenous market of southern Ecuador, the Zumbahua Market and the indigenous Indian art village of Tigua.

The Quilotoa Lodge offers clean, comfortable rooms with private bath and hot water along with a restaurant, bar, and reading areas.
