Tundaloma birding lodge
Tundaloma lodge is located in the coastal lowlands of northern Ecuador. It is surrounded by tropical rainforest known as the Choco.
Just a 5 hour drive from Quito, you can enjoy one of the worlds remotest rainforests from the comfort of our well appointed tropical birding lodge.
The area we are located is called Calderon in the kilometer 146 on the road Ibarra to San Lorenzo, at 80mts above sea leavel.
At Tundaloma lodge our guests will enjoy the wonders of this important biodiversity area. The Choco is one of the world to 10 hotspots for biodiversity and perhaps the wettest area on the planet.
Tundaloma and its surroundings offer world class birdwatching with several endemics.

Birdwatching
Tundaloma lodge, this is a wonderful place for birdwatching and getting a first taste of the tropical rainforest.
Tundaloma is located strategically near all the main birding areas in this area, La Chiquita, Yalare Reserve and Mangrove forests.
Here we try for Slaty-tailed Trogon, White-necked, Pied and Black-breasted Puffbirds among others.

Tundaloma has capacity for 12 people in 6 double cabins each located strategically to offer a wonderfull view of the gardens and tropical surroundings. Each room has a ceiling fan, panoramic windows, refrigerator, private bathroom , hot water.
Services:
Restaurant and Bar are available , dining room , reception , social area with Direct TV. Laundry service is available.
Nature Trails: We have one very good trail inside the property and are closeby to major nature reserves for birdwatching and wildlife viewing.
